Depuis plus de trente ans, notre engagement s’incarne dans une démarche responsable, au cœur de notre travail.

Our commitment to responsible,
sustainable viticulture

Our commitments

An integral part of a vigneron’s profession is primarily custodian of the land, landscape and a family’s history. For more than thirty years, we have strived to act responsibly in everything we do, from an environmental, social and collective perspective, firm in the belief that the quality of a wine also depends on a profound respect for everything around it.

Sustainable viticulture

Our vineyard is founded on respectful, constantly evolving and certified practices, including sustainable agriculture, replaced in 2017 by level 3 High Environmental Value Certificate (HVE 3) and from 2011, Bordeaux Environmental Management System (SME).

We have also planted 20 ha of naturally disease-resistant varieties to reduce the need to treat the vines, and a part of the vineyard is organic. The first organic-certified vintage was released in 2023.

For us, sustainable agriculture is about remaining at one with nature, constantly trialling new practices to create a sustainable harmony between the vineyard its environment.

Preserving biodiversity

Our vines are only part of a rich and diverse ecosystem. In addition to some 400ha of vines, we maintain 200ha of forest, fields and lakes, which provide essential havens for local flora and fauna. Preserving biodiversity is also about routinely changing our daily practices, in other words, the way we work the soils, planting hedgerows, reducing crop inputs, planting bee-friendly plants and protecting natural species.

We have worked in partnership with the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE) for several years now, as part of the Bacchus programme, specialising in the study of biodiversity and viticultural ecosystems. Their teams visit the vineyard several times a year to discover and document the fauna and flora present on our estates, including birds, bats, insects, worms and wild herbs and plants.

Documenting natural capital on a regular basis is an effective way to monitor the evolving biodiversity in vineyard plots and surrounding areas, to identify any specific zones that may need protecting or where the biodiversity needs additional support and adapting our practices as a result. This is a continuous improvement process to raise awareness and ultimately create a vineyard teeming with life and in tune with its natural environment.

Acting collectively and responsibly

Being a vigneron today is also rooted in actively assuring the future of our land and of the Bordeaux wine sector. To this end, within the framework of the CIVB, the regional trade body, we are involved in a number of collective initiatives implemented in Bordeaux.

A founding member of Environmental Management System (SME) and the “Cultivons Demain” CSR programme, we are also actively involved in the Carbon Group, focused on monitoring and reducing our environmental footprint.

We also have a responsibility to our team. Every day, our team of 45 men and women breathe life into the estate, both in the vineyard, the winery and offices. Their safety and general working conditions remain at the top of our agenda.

We also remain deeply committed to the local area and community and focus primarily on working with local partners and suppliers to boost the regional economy and forge greater connections between the vineyard and local community.
